The Department of Trade and Industry launched the Negosyo Center Online Portal 2.0 on Sept. 28 at its Model Negosyo Center in Makati City. The platform puts business registration assistance, advisory services, learning modules, and mentoring in one place. DTI said micro, small, and medium enterprises can access these services remotely.
DTI said the move could save entrepreneurs time and extend assistance to businesses in remote and underserved communities, where access to physical centers might be limited. NCOP 2.0 upgrades the original portal DTI launched in 2021.
What NCOP 2.0 offers entrepreneurs
Developed by DTI’s Negosyo Center Program Management Office, the portal pairs registration and advisory help with free one-on-one virtual coaching from certified business mentors, according to InsiderPH. It also offers updated educational modules and access to a network of business advisers. Entrepreneurs can access the portal at negosyocenter.dti.gov.ph.
The platform also includes client profiling, content management, and data analytics tools. DTI said it can use them to identify business trends and assess MSME needs. The department could also refine its programs based on how entrepreneurs use the portal and what help they seek.
DTI ties the portal to wider MSME support
DTI Secretary Cristina Roque led the launch. “All big businesses started small,” Roque said, urging entrepreneurs to use the portal and tell DTI what support they need, SunStar reported.
Roque said the portal can also help connect local producers with international markets, citing 19 consecutive months of expansion in Philippine merchandise exports, which totaled $54.92 billion from January to July 2026.
DTI is also offering collateral-free financing through the Small Business Corp., including a P2 billion MSME Business Fund, and said its trade fairs generated more than P1.09 billion in sales for over 3,500 local businesses in 2025.
What this means for BPO clients and providers
NCOP 2.0 will likely widen the pipeline of formally registered, digitally active MSMEs, particularly in the provinces. Many of them will reach the point where customer support and back-office work outgrow the founder within their first year or two.
For BPO providers, this creates demand for smaller, flexible engagements. Examples include shared omnichannel support, virtual assistants, and bookkeeping packages priced for businesses that cannot yet hire full teams.
Providers that offer scalable, pay-as-you-grow models and understand local e-commerce platforms will be best positioned to serve this segment. Meanwhile, established BPO clients might face more competition from new local sellers that can professionalize their operations more quickly.
