Egypt strengthened its push to become a leading global outsourcing hub after signing 55 new outsourcing and digital services agreements at the Egypt Global Outsourcing Summit 2025.
The deals, announced in Cairo and reported by Ahram Online, are expected to generate 75,000 direct and indirect jobs by 2028, marking one of Egypt’s largest expansions in the business process outsourcing (BPO) and IT services sector.
Egypt expands outsourcing sector with strategic investments
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat oversaw the signing ceremony, which brought together 16 multinational companies entering Egypt for the first time and 39 global and local firms expanding current operations.
Talaat said the number of agreements reflects growing international confidence in Egypt’s investment climate, skilled workforce, and cost competitiveness. He added that these partnerships reflect the trust global companies place in Egypt’s talent and digital infrastructure.
The agreements support national plans to expand IT services, customer experience (CX) operations, data analytics, contact centers, and AI-enabled services.
According to government projections, Egypt’s digital service exports are expected to double from $2.4 billion in 2022 to an estimated $4.8 billion in 2025. Excluding freelancing, total digital exports have reached $7.4 billion and are projected to reach $9 billion by fiscal year-end.
Talent development driving Egypt’s digital growth
Human capital remains central to Egypt’s outsourcing and digital services strategy. Government-backed programs, including Our Future Is Digital (FWD), Maharat Min Google, and Your Job from Home, have trained 500,000 young professionals.
The goal is to expand training to 800,000 participants, with a focus on AI, cybersecurity, software development, and multilingual CX skills. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s push to build a future-ready digital workforce, noting that more than 60,000 specialists entered the labor market by the end of 2024.
The outsourcing and ICT sector now contributes 6% of Egypt’s GDP, up from 3.2% in 2018, and continues to grow at a rate of 14% to 16% annually, making it one of the country’s fastest-expanding industries.
Egypt strengthens position as a global outsourcing hub
At the summit, ITIDA CEO Ahmed El-Zaher said Egypt has evolved from a traditional service provider into a strategic partner for global digital innovation. He cited major investments in digital infrastructure, nationwide high-speed internet, and expanded digital inclusion across governorates as key to attracting multinational companies.
Egypt’s multilingual, cost-competitive workforce and strategic geographic location, linking Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America, continue to position it as an outsourcing destination of choice.
With 55 new agreements, expanding talent programs, and ambitious digital export targets, Egypt is accelerating its rise as a competitive global hub for BPO, IT services, and digital transformation.
The momentum signals expanding opportunities for international investors and long-term job creation across the country’s rapidly growing digital economy.
