The Philippines aims to expand its presence in North America’s growing healthcare outsourcing market, leveraging its expertise in information technology business process management (IT-BPM) and digital healthcare solutions.
The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) emphasized the government’s efforts to attract foreign investment, highlighted by a healthcare roadshow in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event, held alongside the Healthcare Information Management Services (HIMS) Global Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas from March 3 to 7, showcased the country’s capabilities in healthcare information management and digital solutions.
Expanding partnerships in healthcare IT-BPM
Nine private firms from the HIMS sector participated in the roadshow, seeking to strengthen ties with U.S. and Canadian companies.
These include ADEC Innovations, Inspiro, iReply Back Office Services, JBW Managed Services and Consulting, Office Symmetry Solutions, Pointwest Innovations Corporation, RCM Staff, Visaya KPO, and WorldSource. Representatives from Bacolod City also promoted the region’s IT-BPM capabilities and unique advantages for HIMS firms.
Currently, the United States and Canada account for 75% to 80% of the Philippine HIMS market, making them critical partners in the industry’s continued growth.
“This expansion is further strengthened by the thriving HIMS industry, which continues to drive innovation and efficiency in healthcare services, reinforcing the Philippines’ position as a key player in the global healthcare outsourcing market,” PEZA said in a statement.
PEZA Deputy Director General Anidelle Joy Alguso noted the increasing presence of U.S. investments, with 355 firms contributing over P400 billion and generating more than 360,000 jobs in the country. She added that the newly enacted Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises to Maximize Opportunities for Reinvigorating the Economy (CREATE MORE) Act enhances the country’s appeal by offering improved incentives to investors.
Strengthening global presence at HIMSS 2025
Further solidifying its presence in the healthcare outsourcing sector, the Philippines also participated in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2025 Global Conference and Exhibition, which took place in Las Vegas from March 3 to 6, 2025. HIMSS 2025 is one of the world’s largest healthcare information and technology events.
With its highly skilled, English-speaking workforce, competitive pricing, strong government backing, and a thriving HIMS industry, the Philippines is well-positioned to expand its role in the global healthcare outsourcing sector.
